Children are a cheap shot. Wait let me rephrase that... They make every photograph great, sometimes regardless of the photographer. With their big eyes, and baby cheeks they'll make anyone go aww regardless of composition or lighting. That's why I at least like to shoot them in their natural habitat: playgrounds. This adds interesting color in the background, since they always use the primary red, yellow and blue, and it makes for happy kid poses. I think there is nothing worse than taking your kid to Sears (or other corporate studio photography places) and putting him in a costume in front of a fake backdrop. No wonder normally the kids cry and don't cooperate. I am all grown up but swings are still a great place to be!

Urban Forest Project, DC
I don't get involved in community projects as often as I'd like. This is my second time with the Urban Forest project and they even did a little interview with me. I was terribly nervous and I just love a camera 10" in front of my face, but I made it through and met some cool people. Video editing is pretty useful, otherwise who knows how this would've turned out. Thanks to Joe Carabeo, who is super fun to work with, for not making me sound like a complete babbling idiot. So watch the video, but be warned in real life I cannot be edited - unfortunately.
Bad quality of the image on the website so here it is here again. Go to the Urban Forest website

BW nature shots
I was out for a walk and took some nature shots. I have a thing against digital shots of greenery. So much in fact that I almost always convert them to BW and edit the heck out of them. Perhaps I have an odd green-shift on my camera setting, but everything looks off. Regardless, I miss some B&W Ilford shots, enough to take out my film camera and go shooting. I thought the minimum maintenance road-enter at your own risk sign was quite humorous - only in the midwest!
